Post Easter Food Hangover – Nutrition Tip of the Week

What’s the Good Word Birds,

Hope everyone enjoyed their long Easter weekend; I am sure most are feeling a Food Hangover of sorts. I am just recovering from a bad case of the ‘Meat Sweats’. As a fitness coach I understand that certain times of the year bring along opportunities for large feedings and overeating. But that’s all good as my Lean-Fit-Healthy approach to holidays and celebrations is that you should embrace the idea that when spending time with friends and family you don’t always have to be ‘ON’ with your nutrition. With each of my clients I try to teach them the principle of everything in moderate and that no food is really bad for you, but rather the devil is always in the dose. Having balance and a healthy relationship with food is the cornerstone of the Lean-Fit-Healthy Program. This is why the amazing clients under my tutelage have a 95% success rate!

In today’s quick video I come up with a strategy for myself to dial in my nutrition for the upcoming week and I share with you some ‘Insiders Secrets’ for FREE! Who looking out for you guys, this guy…….

Sustainability of your Workouts and Meal Plan?

What’s Going on Yalls,

Its been a while since my last post, its been a crazy busy summer on my end. I hope you guys are having a ROCKIN summer too! I Just got back from a fantabolous family Utah Trip. If you love the outdoors, you gotta check out Utah. Anyhow, when I got back it was all about taking care of my latest recruits in the Lean-Fit-Healthy Program.

You see with my Fitness Consulting business I take on 20 clients for a period of 3-4 months and help them get Lean-Fit-Healthy. One of the pillars of my Lean-Fit-Healthy Programs is finding a Sustainable Workout regiment and meal plan that fits one’s lifestyle. Upon completion of the program my clients have the knowledge, tools, and proper direction that allows for long term success. Check out the video below as I expand on this concept.

In my opinion the best way to measure success of any program is to look at the long term results. Its all about finding the program that not only gives you short term results, but puts you in a position to maintain the results and long term success.

Walnuts, Start Eating them, they’re Dynamite!

Coming At Ya from my car for another great snack episode!

Proper snacks when you are on the run are the keys to success in being Lean-Fit-Healthy. Although preparation is key, you have to arm yourself with strategies when you forget to pack snacks or in my case ‘Starvin Marvin’. Check out the post below and let me know what yalls think.

There you have it folks, having the proper solution and strategies are the small things that over time pay dividends in the fat loss game. Whenever I forget to pack my snacks for the day I pop into the nearest grocery store and stock up

Whats going on Yalls,

Ron Mourra is back on the GRID! Sorry for the delay in the post, I had a small glitch in my Blackberry which severely disrupted my day to day activity (mostly my fault because I rely on it so much). Its funny when I talked to the Telus representative I was a bit frustrated and asked ‘Why does ever phone I get always end up breaking’. To lighten the mood she responded, ‘You have bad luck and you use your phone to much’. Not sure about the former, but the latter part is definitely true. Are you guys the same way? Rely on technology too much? Is it more of a hinder than a help at times? So today’s post is all about a few lessons I learned when I fell off the grid (I have to tell you it was a blessing in disguise). It is also one of the keys to being Lean-Fit-Healthy. Check out the video below to find out why?

There you have it folks some master lessons to be learned from my experience and I hope the TAKE HOME message hits home. Being Lean-Fit-Healthy is not just about the workouts, proper nutrition, looking great, etc. Its about the relationships we have, what we value most in our life, taking the blinders off and focusing on living in the NOW.

Lean-Fit-Healthy Strategies when attending a Wedding

Whats going down in China Town,

On the weekend I attended an amazing wedding for two great friends Jeff and Saheera Bethune. It was a unique wedding filled with many memorable moments and the food was delicious. Like many of you, my goal is to stay Lean-Fit-Healthy while living a normal life. I don’t want to eat special foods, have to count calorie, and on occasion I will overindulge. It is important to find balance during your quest to stay Lean-Fit-Healthy, especially if you are planning on making it a lifestyle change.

Since wedding season is underway I saw it fitting to VBlog about it. In this episode I show you my strategy for the evening and some small tips you can implement.

There you have it folks, simple steps that you can implement during your next wedding. Focus on getting your greens in at first and I always choose wine over dessert. Ditch the bread and make sure you tear it up on the dance floor. The next day add in an active cardio day, preferable outside and enjoy the outdoors.

I have to confess something though, I did really well up to the midnight buffer table. They served Slider burgers and fries, my weakness! I ended up have 1 or 2 burgers (well maybe more like 4) however I picked it up on the dance floor and I cut a rug!

Fat Loss By Inches: Coach Mourra

Super Bowl Sunday is coming up Yalls and Coach Mourra wants you to come up with a Strategy and Game Plan. With this Al Pacino Inspired Post, I give you Fat Loss By Inches (If anyone has watched the movie ‘Any given Sunday’, this will make sense).

I truly believe Fat Loss is a game of inches. It’s about focusing on each workout, each meal, coming up with strategies over holidays, having fun with workouts, social support, accountability, etc.

Without further ado, I give you ‘Fat Loss By Inches’

At the end of the day, Fat Loss doesn’t have to be that confusing. In my opinion you have to come up with your own conclusions and find out what works for you. Find a role model and learn from them (hint, hint, I hope you use me!).

Insider Secret #3: Cheat Meal

Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas and Happy Festivus!

I hope everyone had an AMAZING Christmas! I sure had a blast spending time with my familia! This year I was Santa Claus for my family Christmas gathering and had the pleasure of handing out gifts to all the little ones. Check me out in action.

Insider Secret #2: Exercise a Little Self Control

Coming At Ya from my first Christmas Party which was the BOMB! Good food, good conversation, good company, I LOVE the HOLIDAYS! Although it is a time where we EAT, DRINK, and BE MERRY, it is also important to exercise a little self control and reduce mindless eating.

Start with using a smaller plate while hitting up the buffet table and stock up on veggies. This way you fill up on fibre which will make you full and reduce the likelihood of overeating. Small plates are great because you can load the plate up and create an illusion that you are eatin more food. Brilliant!

Once you fill up your plate, you need an exit strategey. Operation GAFBT (Get Away From Buffet Table) needs to be implemented pronto! Eat your veggies away from table and once finished for round 2, stock up on proteins and minimize starchs.
